Suggestion: *
Description: Publish certain details of IPv4 waiting list
Value to Community: ARIN should publish certain details of the waiting
list so that people can make educated decisions about their IPv4
planning (to the extent IPv4 planning remains relevant).
Apologies for the syntactical ugliness, but < and > are not allowed in
suggestions so had to be replaced with ( and ), respectively.
I propose that each waiting list entry be published with only the
following details: (DATE) (PREFIXLEN)
Where (DATA) is the date the entry was put on the waiting list and
(PREFIXLEN) is the length of prefix being waited for. If the requestor
specified a range, then (PREFIXSHORT)-(PREFIXLONG) should be shown for
(PREFIXLEN)
e.g. 2015-07-05 /20-/24, 2016-04-01 /4-/8, etc.
The benefit to the community is increased transparency in the management
of the queue and a better ability to understand the total inadequacy of
IPv4.
Users logged into AOL who have a place in the queue should have a marker
displayed next to their queue entry "(--You are here" or equivalent.
