On 21 July 2022, the ARIN Advisory Council (AC) classified "ARIN-prop-313: Editorial Clean-up of NRPM Sections 2.12 and 2.14" as an Editorial Change to the Number Resource Policy Manual (NRPM).

The process for Editorial Changes is found in Part One, Section 3.1, paragraph 3 of the Policy Development Process (PDP):

 

"Changes to policy that are purely editorial and non-substantial in nature are outside the scope of the full Policy Development Process and may only be made with 30 days public notice followed by the concurrence of both the ARIN Advisory Council and ARIN Board of Trustees that the changes are non-substantial in nature."

Editorial Change ARIN-edit-2022-6: Editorial Clean-up of NRPM Sections 2.12 and 2.14

 

Problem Statement:

 

This proposal continues the work that the ARIN AC NRPM Clean-up Working Group undertook to conduct an editorial review of the NRPM. It relates specifically to Sections 2.12 and 2.14. The focus of this proposal is to eliminate the capitalization of certain words that are not defined in the NRPM and ensure that the intended meaning of the text is clear

 

Policy statement:

 

In Section 2.12, change the text “Information” to “information”, and in Section 2.14, change the text “shall mean” to “means”, and change the text “Points of Presence (POPs), Datacenters, Central or Local” to “points of presence (POPs), datacenters, central or local”.

 

Comments: 

 

The fee schedule is not in effect until Jan 1, 2022. The new Fee Schedule includes the following changes, “Transitioning End Users from annual per-resource maintenance fees to the RSP (Registration Services Plan) Fee Schedule”

This proposal is intended to be editorial in nature and to replace Prop-305 in part.
