To be clear:
It's impressive what you, Owen, do to disqualify ARIN-prop-266. And it's
amazing how some people strive not to discuss illicit acts by members of
the community. The justification that it is outside the scope of the PDP or
NRPM does not hold. Try to reconcile opposing arguments with the ARIN Code
of Conduct.
It is true that the vote will only require a new and equal assessment by
the board of trustees (inside or outside the "scope"). The vote did not
push the proposal forward, it just moved back to square one. For this
reason I reproduce below excerpts from the ARIN Code of Conduct to require
proper conduct:
1.1 The Board of Trustees (“Board”) members share a commitment to NURTURE
and SAFEGUARD American Registry for Internet Numbers, Ltd.’s (“ARIN”)
REPUTATION and to act in the best interests of the organization.
3.1 Everything we do in connection with our work at ARIN is measured
against the highest customary standards of ETHICAL and PROFESSIONAL
behavior. ARIN’s commitment to these highest standards helps bring great
people into the ARIN community and encourages their lasting participation.
5.2 ARIN Board members are expected to adhere to the highest standards of
behavior and decorum.
