[arin-ppml] ARIN-prop-266 Open Petition

Hi Owen,

I think my original message (https://lists.arin.net/pipermail/arin-ppml/2019-April/032896.html) clearly stated it, and despite the different wording used by different folks, everybody is supporting the same petition, as there is only one right now in the list.

The authors didn't wanted to create confussion by starting the discussion in parallel with the petition, but of course, we once the dead-line for the pettition passes, we will be very happy to keep the discussion, responding to questions, etc., we could also probably improve the text and send a new version.

What it doesn't make sense to us is to need a *new petition* everytime we submit a new version, so that's why we prefer to have a clear decision on that.

Obviously our final goal is to be able to get it considere in-scope and consequently accepted as a draft policy to move forward in the PDP.

    To be clear to all those that are supporting this as a discussion petition… It is not.

    It is a petition to  have the board of trustees reconsider the determination by the AC that
    the proposal was out of scope of the PDP.

    I believe the proposal to be out of scope because the remedies it proposes are generally
    outside of the scope of the NRPM.

    I must, however, wonder how much of the support is for something that isn’t the subject
    of the petition given the number of comments like the one below.

    To be clear, the proposal can be discussed on PPML without being accepted onto the
    docket of the advisory council and without having draft policy status. There is nothing
    preventing discussion of the proposal at this time other than the choice of community
    members on this list to refrain from doing so.
