[arin-ppml] Proposed update for ARIN-2017-12

Marilson,

ARIN's privacy policy is at;

https://www.arin.net/privacy.html

One of the privacy principles listed on this page is "ARIN obtains personal
data only for specific lawful purposes and by consent of the individual"

I believe the statement I made, "I think ARIN separate from number policy
reasons would want to ensure that POCs themselves approved or are at least
notified when a database entry is made for them as an individual," is
consistent with that privacy principle and the rest of ARIN's privacy
policy.

Furthermore, I think in the last few years the privacy of an individual's
personal data, especially on the Internet, is of concern across the
political spectrum. I was merely using GDPR as an example of this concern,
I did not mean to imply that it directly applies to ARIN or that we should
be concerned with its specific provisions. Nevertheless, maintaining some
level of privacy, or control of data about yourself, is an important
concern of everyone.

Finally, my overall point was that, while this policy is tangentially
related to these privacy issues, they are not directly a subject of the new
policy test that is proposed.

As one of the shepherds for this policy, I would appreciate hearing any
comments that you have directly on the point of policy or the policy text
that has been proposed.

Thank you.
