David,
I have no interest in the ARIN Privacy Policy and no one is discussing it.
I am not against privacy. If you want to fill out a WHOIS with REDACTED FOR
PRIVACY or Registrant WhoisGuard, whatever, fine, do not see any problem.
But the ISPs' AUPs, ToSs and ASPs must to be indeed a useful tool and not a
decorative piece. You all need to take responsibility whenever the tools
you provide are used in an unlawful manner. Now, nobody is responsible for
anything, the non-imputability is widespread and then, they shove down into
our throats a WHOIS full of REDACTED FOR PRIVACY... Sirs, you're playing
gods! And insulting people's intelligence.
All of you are playing gods but are much weaker than think. Let me give you
an example: A newly graduated young judge, working in the confines of the
Amazon jungle, has enough strength to stop, for example, one of the richest
men on the planet and their Facebook. All he needs is a pen and a few
minutes.
The Draft Policy in question is very vague and does not give me the
information that interests me. I abstain.
