We already HAVE images that support IPv6 and they are running fine. 
Since certain router vendors seem to view any feature addition as a
chance to sell you a lot of expensive new gear (since the xOS version
won't run on the older gear that contains this needed feature) we
wouldn't be too keen on seeing this implemented.
