I think that is an important observation that should also awaken us to
the positive good that comes from having ICANN already existing.  Many
people who want to throw the whole thing over seem not to realise
that, if we didn't have ICANN, we'd have to re-invent it.  We might do
a better job, but I've been involved in enough software rewrites to
know that we might just as easily either do worse or no better, but at
great cost of time and money.
