Dear respected ARIN Members of the community:

I come to you with a sincere request for your consideration. 
My name is Shernon Osepa and I have over 30 years of extensive experience in the Telecoms, Regulations & Policy and Internet Governance area.
Coming from a small island nation myself, I had the opportunity for my career to be marked by significant international experience with key organizations such as ICANN and ISOC, whereby I was the main liaison for the Caribbean and to certain extent also Latin America. My contribution to global internet governance did not go unnoticed whereby I had the opportunity to act as a High-Level-Track facilitator at the UN-WSIS representing the global technical community of which ARIN also forms part. In addition to these forums I had presented on numerous occasions on Internet Governance in the Americas and also beyond. I am also the co-founder of the Caribbean Peering and Interconnection Forum (CarPIF), whereby the main focus is on development of the Internet Economy replacing traditional industries that are no longer viable.
I have a strong background in policy (Master Degree in Telecommunication Regulation and Policy) and well developed diplomatic skills to deal with all stakeholders. I do understand the old telecoms world based on circuit switched and also the new world based on the Internet and packet switched technologies. I have a background in electrical/telecoms engineering and also business administration as well. Making me an ideal candidate to deal with all real life challenges related to policy and technology nowadays.
It's important also to mention that ARIN service area covers also approximately 30 nations in the Caribbean. For the last 20 years I have been engaging with all these nations on the highest levels, from the technical community all the way to governments. These nations so called Small Island Development States (SIDS) have some very unique characteristics that none of the other countries in ARIN service area do not have.
If elected, I will ensure that together with other board members, ARIN leadership and the community at large, the interests of all ARIN members are served and respected.I also do understand the different cultural nuances, fluent in several languages myself such as English, Dutch, Spanish, Papiamento and with working understanding of French and Portuguese.
We are standing at an important crossroads and it's no longer just the issuing of IP resources that plays a key role. It is about how we can use these resources for further development of the Internet in a secure and trusted way and ARIN members.
I am ready, willing, passionate and able to serve not only the ARIN community but to defend the whole Internet Ecosystem and its stakeholders.
