Purely as a point of information, when we ran BGP: the movie at APNIC
Labs we were able to show graphically the ageing out of ASN. It's been
a "thing" since the birth of ASN delegations, that a significant
number don't appear actively in routing, this isn't a "new" behaviour
but one which we see over the history of BGP and INR visibility in
global default-free routing.
