[arin-ppml] ARIN Prop 314 - Clean up of NRMP section 2.17

Good afternoon!

My name is Alison Wood and I am one of the assigned shepherds to prop 314.  The proposal would like to better define what IANA is when mentioned in the NRPM.

Please let me know if you feel this is an editorial change and if you have any concerns with the verbiage.  See the full proposal below:


Problem Statement:

Although the term "IANA" appears throughout Section 10 of the NRPM, there is no reference to any definition of the term. This proposal defines the term with reference to appropriate ICANN documentation.

Policy statement:

Introduce a new Section 2.17 that reads as follows:

"2.17 Internet Assigned Names and Numbers (IANA)

The term Internet Assigned Names and Numbers (IANA) refers to a set of functions described in the document entitled IANA FUNCTIONS: THE BASICS issued by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

Timetable for implementation: Immediate
