Marilson,

Good definitions are the foundation. Without a good definition of exactly what a policy proposal (or standard) is addressing, the rest of the proposal is worthless.

In the case of the current draft of  prop-266, the term BGP Hijacking is not defined and I could not find a consistent definition of the term on the web. It seems that BGP hijacking and route hijacking might be synonyms. We’ve had a lot of discussion that has helped me understand what BGP/route hijacking is, but I’m not prepared to write a definition.

Keith, there are many ways to sabotage a work or avoid inconvenient rules. The most efficient way is to ask definitions. You asked for a definition. Although for many it is a difficult definition, it is very easy for me. The problem is that a list member have tied to your request twelve other definitions. He forgot to relate the definition of abuse. So we would have to define 14 items. It is like to be holding meetings when nothing wants to do. Not content to create a high equation to infinity, he disqualified prop-266 authors as professionals without "necessary training, experience, background, and technical expertise for such practice".

This is a classic argumentum ad hominem: a fallacy identified when one seeks to deny a proposition with a criticism to its author. Used in excess on this list and is never grounds for notification. But identifying the person and showing the use of this practice is considered ad hominem and reason for requesting expulsion by malicious persons or by who have a skeleton in the closet

For showing the absurd argumentum ad hominem of adviser David Farmer against the authors of prop-266, I was accused of ad hominem and some members asked for my expulsion. I would like to make to these individuals the question that was posted on this list: Are you doing hijacking and don't want interference?

"I welcome questions, and I hope ARIN will" try "to weigh correctly the assertions of people who have never" considered an ethical stance in their behavior.
