[arin-ppml] Discussion Petition (Proposal has not been accepted as a Draft Policy)

I support the petition wrote by Jordi, but I need to say:

Jordi, do you want to end the current main source of income? The currency
of the highest current value is the personal and financial data of people –
ask the owner of Facebook? And ask how we got 500 billion spam and scam a
day... You exclude the discussion of ethics in your ARIN-prop-264 and want
to discuss BGP hijacking?! Wrong place.

Cloudflare explains:

*“It may seem surprising that the operator of a large network or group of
networks, many of which are ISPs, would brazenly undertake such malicious
activity. But considering that by some counts there are now over 80,000
autonomous systems globally, it is not surprising that some would be
untrustworthy. Additionally, BGP hijacking is not always obvious or easy to
detect. Bad actors may camouflage their activity behind other ASes, or may
announce unused blocks of IP prefixes that are not likely to be noticed in
order to stay under the radar.”*

Cloudflare errs when it says - "that some would be untrustworthy". They
know they are not "some", it's the majority.

Consistent was ARIN's stance: "Policy Proposals that are determined by the
AC to be out of scope (e.g. for not addressing a clearly defined existing
or expected problem, or that propose solutions involving other than number
resource policy in the region) are rejected."

Out of scope… For not addressing a clearly defined existing problem… What a
wonderful world!
