Marty -

We’ve got several copies at this point, and are now attempting to isolate which subscriber address is triggering the bot (as well as looking into potential risk of archive-based triggering.)

Thanks!

And to be fair to the OP that started the original discussion (not Ron), in less than 60 seconds of posting my response to your message I was spammed. The subject was this thread. There is a bot on the list. Question is how to find it. If anyone at ARIN wants a copy of the message feel free to drop me a line.

Cheers,

Martin

Owen,

I agree. I also wouldn't support a ban. More importantly, this is all easily resolved with a *PLONK*. However, the OP made a serious error in judgement. The transmission of that image to the entire group was completely uncalled for. Any "reasonable person" knows better. Luckily Im using GMAIL. Otherwise, this would be a real problem for me.

1. Slow down the train.

2. Marilson, the correct answer is: "I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
I get that you don't like spam. I don't like spam either. Forwarding a
spam with potentially pornographic content to this mailing list was a
real bonehead move. If you can't accept that it was an error, perhaps
you should be removed from this list.

3. Is there any compelling reason why this mailing list should permit
attachments in the first place? Can we not express our thoughts with
words?

Regards,
Bill Herrin
