It's also within the range of consensus by which we have abandoned proposals in the past.

Which is one of the many reasons that a lot of us were wary about 8.3 to begin with and tried to include such protections as a sunset clause.

8.3 opened that door due to exigent circumstances for IPv4 runout. No such exigent circumstances exist with respect to ASNs.

Further, the AC did not adopt this proposal, the AC sent this proposal to last call.
