Speculators can buy addresses now, but ipv4trading.com doesn't seem awash in 
them.
Speculators can buy legacy addresses now, too.
Speculators and market-cornerers are naturally bound by the existence of 
IPv6.
If they drive the price above transition cost, they will kill their own 
golden goose.
Maybe this fear of speculators, of whom there is no evidence, is not 
justified.

I guess you aren't old enough to remember long lines and rationing in the 
USA.

The current petrol shortage here has little to do with gov't and
everything to do with speculators buying stocks of fuel, despite them
having no retail outlets.

See any resemblance to IP addressing?
