[arin-ppml] PDP development status (was Re: AC Role in Petitions)

As chair of the committee working on the PDP, it falls to me to respond.

I did present an outline of where the committee is heading at the recent ARIN 
meeting, see 
https://www.arin.net/participate/meetings/reports/ARIN_XXVII/ppm.html under "PDP 
Committee Report."  The open questions I listed were related to the Public 
Policy Meeting: whether its purpose to to give the AC an idea of the community's 
sense of a young proposal, or to find consensus (for or against) a mature 
proposal.  Other questions may certainly be examined or re-examined.  


The committee's expectation for the process is that once we have agreed on a 
process, and checked to make sure it meets our original goals, we will send it 
to the AC and Board to make sure we haven't missed anything significant, and 
shortly afterward send it to PPML.  The AC and Board will be able to make 
comments, but we'll be most interested in the feedback from the community.  The 
committee does not believe that our work ends once we have sent documents to the 
AC and Board, and in fact expects additional questions will need to be addressed 
before we have an adopted Policy Development Process, and probably afterward.

As for "when," I thought it would have been before the April Public Policy 
Meeting, but it turned out that we had unresolved questions (see above).  So, 
Real Soon Now, I hope within a few weeks.

sick this week, and not tracking email well.  Two, the committee has been slow 
in completing its work.

Great! When can I expect a rough draft of the PDP changes to be posted
here, so that we can discuss the general themes as a community prior
to the specific language being locked down?
