[arin-ppml] Policy Proposal 95: Customer Confidentiality

I am accountable for the utilization of the resources allocated to me
by arin already. Saying that anyone utilizing a small fraction of it
should be publicly known is a opinion not a fact. I'm only making this
a point because this is a open discussion and I do not want people to
mistake what you said as a factual statement when really its an
opinion. I would also like to urge people to read the actual proposal
because it states that I would still have to give the customers name
but would only be hiding there address and telephone information which
could easily be used by competitors to try and contact my customers. I
have heard the debate about this proposal being used to try and hide
malicious users but I would only have to assume that they could be
dishonest about those customers to try and hide them even with the way
it is handled now. That debate really has nothing to do with this
proposal but more to do with consequences for people who do not handle
abuse. The people who are honest about customer swip data would still
provide the actual customer name and would only hide the address and
phone number. If somebody wanted the malicious user removed from a
network they would still contact the person who the ip space has been
allocated too and who is ultimately responsible for it. I don't think
anyone here is trying to claim that they own the ip space or that they
want to harbor malicious users.
