[arin-ppml] IPv4 Depletion as an ARIN policy concern

I'll be interested to see what Ben comes back with for IP pricing. How much
is *TOO* much is relative because we all have different size checkbooks. A
large telecom company might be able to drop a million dollars for a large
block of Ips whereas a small <100k in sales data center simply can't afford
them. I think $10 per IP is low. Many datacenters out there charge from 50
cents to $1 per month per IP address. They can make $10 in less than a
year. And that's with Ips being freely available from the RIR.

Milton,
There's no particular rationale behind that number. I needed to fill the
blank and I offer it as a starting point for discussion. Is it too high? Too
low?
Until the end of the free pool, cost per address is as low as fractional
cents. After depletion, how much per address is too much?
How much is so much that for all intents and purposes the address market has
locked up and become ineffective?
Regards,
Bill
