The ARIN Advisory Council (AC) met on 29 April 2009 and decided to
abandon the following two draft policies:

* Draft Policy 2009-2: Depleted IPv4 reserves
* Draft Policy 2009-4: IPv4 Recovery Fund

The AC met in accordance with the ARIN Policy Development Process which
requires the AC to meet within 30 days of the conclusion of the Public
Policy Meeting to make decisions about the draft policies that had been
presented.

These draft policies have been abandoned by the AC. This action may be
petitioned. The PDP states, “Any member of the community, including a
proposal originator, may initiate a Last Call Petition if they are
dissatisfied with the action taken by the Advisory Council regarding any
draft policy. If successful, this petition will move the draft policy to
last call discussion and review by the community on the PPML.”

The deadline to begin a petition for these draft policies is 8 May 2009.
Petitions must include the draft policy text and a petition statement.
Once begun, a petition lasts for 5 business days. Success is measured as
support from at least 10 different people from 10 different
organizations. Should a petition begin, ARIN staff will post additional
information.

If there are no petitions or petitions fail, then these draft policies
will be closed.
