I punted to Ted off list about the finer technical points of the above hack.  But, I think it does point out an excellent, urm, point.  We have more IPv6 addresses than we know what to do with and I'm already well down the path of being able to provide them to my customers.  I would gladly do so.  And yet, we have to come up with all of these various ways to hack our way into extending the life of IPv4.  

Why?
