Unless someone can contradict me here, I'm assuming that policy providing
for the use of 5 digit ZIP codes in the US would simply codify into policy
as acceptable a practice that is already permitted.  Would the same be
true of partial postal codes for Canadian addresses?  IOW, does ARIN
currently permit SWIPs to contain just the first three characters of the
postal code for Canadian addresses?

In any event, whether this policy proposal would change or simply clarify
and codify existing poilcy, I would support a policy proposal that
explicitly allows use of 5 digit ZIP codes for US addresses and partial (3
character?) postal codes for Canadian addresses.  I would not support a
policy that encourages omission of the ZIP/postal code entirely.
