That statement taken literally is indeed false.  Let me rephrase:

s/already know everyone is using/know customers could use/

Customers with multiple devices could also use tunnels or proxies
but neither is as common as "NAT in a box" (unfortunately).

I'm glad you asked, because before I dug up that article I had
no idea that many boxes had been sold.
