Precisely! There is no need for any government involvement whatsoever
in the management of the Internet infrastructure.

I don't understand why you are writing this. In the context of this
mailing list the only people funded by the government are the research and
education community and since they are big users of IP address space
I don't see any good reason to block them from involvement in ARIN.

In fact, the massive success and the fast growth of the Internet is due
in large measure to the fact that the research community, the network
operators and the equipment manufacturers all work closely together
to greatly reduce the time it takes for research to become reality.
