In accordance with the ARIN Policy Development Process, the ARIN
Advisory Council (AC) held a meeting on 17 May 2012 and made decisions
about several draft policies and proposals.

The AC recommended the following draft policies to the ARIN Board for
adoption:

ARIN-2012-1: Clarifying requirements for IPv4 transfers
   ARIN-2012-3: ASN Transfers

The following proposals were added to the AC's docket for development
and evaluation:
ARIN-prop-166 Clarify /29 Assignment Identification Requirement
ARIN-prop-167 Removal of Renumbering Requirement for Small Multihomers

The AC considered the following proposal to be an administrative update:
   ARIN-prop-169 Cleanup IPv6 section 6.5.7

Regarding proposal 169, "The ARIN AC considers the text removal in this
proposal to be administrative, and has asked ARIN staff to work with the
BoT to process this change. The text cited for removal is from June 26,
2002. The paragraph that will remain was added to to the September 2011
edition of the NRPM by policy 2011-3. Both pieces of text accomplish
similar goals, however the 2002 text is restrictive to early /35
assignments. The 2011-3 text is more generic and will cover any future
changes to IPv6 allocation policy."

The AC has essentially abandoned proposal 169. Anyone dissatisfied with
this decision may initiate a petition. The petition to advance this
proposal would be the "Discussion Petition." The deadline to begin a
petition will be five business days after the AC's draft meeting minutes
are published. For more information on starting and participating in
petitions, see PDP Petitions at:
