Hi community member,
Would like to introduce the right of portability of number resource.
This right empowers people and businesses to move their Internet Resources to a new provider or registry without losing them. This freedom is crucial because it lets users pick providers that offer better services, or faster support. Without portability, users are stuck with a provider, even if it’s unreliable or overpriced, which hits small businesses and individuals hardest. They might face slow Internet, frequent outages, or high fees with no way out, stifling their growth or access.
Portability helps keep the internet fair by letting people and businesses switch to better providers or registries without losing their internet resources. This pushes providers and RIRs to offer better service to keep community in safe and happy. It could be seen as, a small online store could move to a faster network and grow its business without changing its online address.
By adding this right to the ICP-2 policy, users won’t get stuck with bad service or unfair rules. It also helps during issues like provider disputes, allowing smooth transitions without network problems. Overall, adding portability to the ICP-2 draft supports choice, fairness, and progress for everyone online.
Please consider, thanks.
