I’m Preston Louis Ursini, and I am running for the ARIN Advisory Council.
I am a network operator, community advocate, and policy architect who believes ARIN’s policies should empower the people who build and maintain the Internet every day. From operating a regional ISP and Internet Exchange to drafting policy proposals that simplify IPv6 adoption and resource access for smaller networks, I have seen how ARIN’s policies directly shape the future of connectivity. Over the past several years, I have consulted with organizations ranging from global CDNs and large data center operators to small ISPs and first-time resource holders.
As part of this work, I helped build what is now the largest Internet Exchange Point in Kentucky, the Paducah Internet Exchange (AS21927). That experience has given me a firsthand understanding of how strong community collaboration and open interconnection can transform local connectivity and empower regional networks.
Those experiences have given me a balanced understanding of how ARIN policy impacts everyone, from the hyperscale edge to the rural last mile.
My message is simple: the most important thing is that people get involved and vote. ARIN works best when its community participates, debates, and decides its own path forward. One of my core beliefs is in community-led governance, that ARIN’s direction should be guided by the operators, engineers, and organizations who rely on it every day.
If elected, I will work to keep ARIN transparent, responsive, and accessible, ensuring that the policies we create reflect real operational needs and real community consensus.
Above all, I am committed to being open and accessible. I encourage anyone, whether you represent a multinational carrier or a small independent network, to reach out and share your perspectives. Your voices are what keep this community strong, and I will always make time to listen.
Voting opens Thursday, 30 October 2025, at 3:00 PM ET, and closes Friday, 7 November 2025, at 7:00 PM ET. For details on how to vote, visit https://www.arin.net/participate/oversight/elections
Thank you for your time, your participation, and your continued commitment to a stronger, community-driven ARIN.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to reach out to me on LinkedIn or via email.
