On October 31, 2002 at the ARIN X meetings in Eugene, Oregon,
CLEW Chairman Bill Darte proposed that the working group and
its mailing list be disbanded. There was unanimous consent from
the meeting attendees to take this action.

Bill cited inactivity on the mailing list and limited
audience participation during CLEW sessions at the last several
ARIN meetings.

Past contributions from CLEW should be recognized. CLEW provided
valuable input over the years and served as a catalyst for many actions
including:

-- creation of documentation and faqs
-- introduction of tutorials at ARIN meetings
-- creation of quarterly ARIN Today newsletter
-- guidance on website redesign
-- training initiatives such as the cbt

Bill emphasized that many avenues currently exist for community and member
input to ARIN on training and education initiatives. Feedback through
the arin-discuss and member services mailing lists is encouraged.
The topic will be raised at future ARIN meetings.

On behalf of the ARIN staff and ARIN community I thank Bill Darte for his
years of service as the CLEW Working Group Chairman. He brought insight,
enthusiasm, and persistence to his charge.

This is the last post to the CLEW mailing list. The mailing list archive
