Thank you for reaching out with this question.

ARIN is required by community established policy to validate each point of contact in the ARIN database at least once per year.

We send an email to each point of contact in ARIN Whois once per year asking them to validate their contact information. Included with the request for them to validate their own point of contact data, we include information about how their data was placed in the ARIN database and Whois. In the case of reassigned networks, information about the upstream provider who created their reassignment record is included in the email for their reference.

There is currently a proposed policy being discussed by the community on the Public Policy Mailing List (PPML) that could potentially remove the requirement for ARIN to conduct annual verification for points of contact that are associated with reassigned networks and organizations. The AT&T Admin for net12 space has been receiving a flood of e-mails from customers (500+ emails/daily). This has been happening since March of last year (2017).
