ACSP Suggestion 2023.12: Allow Greater Flexibility in Advanced Whois-RWS Search
https://www.arin.net/participate/community/acsp/suggestions/2023/2023-12/
Author: Tom Fantacone
Submitted On: 24 August 2023
Description: Allow greater flexibility in Advanced Whois-RWS Search including partial matches. Current searches require an exact match, including exact punctuation. A search for “ABC Corp” currently shows no results even if there’s an existing “ABC Corp.” (with period).
Value to Community: Organizations trying to determine if they have multiple Org IDs and wishing to clean this up have a hard time searching for these unless they know the exact spelling, abbreviation or punctuation used. Partial matches would be a big help.
Status: Open
Response from ARIN: Thank you for your suggestion, numbered 2023.12 upon confirmed receipt, asking that ARIN allow greater flexibility in Advanced Whois-RWS search results. ARIN has reviewed this suggestion, and it will be considered for future prioritization as part of a group of Whois-RWS improvements. Your suggestion will remain open until implemented.
Thank you for participating in the ARIN Consultation and Suggestion Process.
