ARIN has received and responded to a new suggestion submitted to the
ACSP and numbered 2015.17.

Suggestion text:
Switch ARIN elections to Single Transferable Vote instead of First past
the post (current system)

Value to Community: Single Transferable Vote is a proven system for
improving the quality of election results and making it possible for
people to more granularly express their preferences among candidates in
an election process.

Rather than rehash the details of STV here, I will merely reference:

ARIN Response:
Thank you for your suggestions, numbered 2015.17 upon confirmed receipt,
regarding ARIN elections.

Your suggestion to move ARIN elections away from our current "first past
the post" system to a Single Transferable Vote system will be sent to
ARIN¹s President and CEO for evaluation and possible referral to the
ARIN Board of Trustee's Governance Committee for review and consideration.

This suggestion will remain open pending executive review.
