    <div class="moz-cite-prefix">The previous PDP restricted formal
      policy input to the meetings and PPML.  The updated PDP expanded
      this to include recognized methods, with the idea that the AC in
      consultation with the ARIN Board would be free to explore newer
      approaches to gather community input on policy matters and create
      new recognized methods.  Later future PDP revisions might
      explicitly note those newer methods after they have been defined
      and in use as directed by the Board.  </div>

    <div class="moz-cite-prefix">Over time we have developed the
      standards and norms around community input, these for example
      include attribution, archival, and transparency.  For these and
      other reasons a statement on a random website would not be a
      recognized method, but if the ARIN AC in consultation with the
      Board decided to use a "web forum" to gather input on policy
      matters that could be a new recognized method.</div>

    <div class="moz-cite-prefix">If the AC believes that to meet its
      goal of facilitating the policy development process it would like
      to use a newer more modern platform, my suggestion would be that
      AC after discussions/consultations with the community on this
      matter make a request to the Board to trial a newer platform with
      specific goals and attributes in mind to measure if the newer
      platform provided better community input than current methods.  </div>

              This survey is the mid-point of this work - the policy
              engagement workgroup solicited feedback for several
              months, inclusive of public asks (and a table topic) at

              most viable ones received after discussion about support,
              time commitment, and responsibility. The committee is also
              mindful of their purview - this group can’t dictate
              staff’s (or the board’s) plans for engagement that they
              are responsible for undertaking (a good example is
              revising the mail system platform.) As a result, this list
              of questions focuses on work the AC itself can undertake
              and perform. </div>
