<div dir="ltr">I disagree with this policy as written. Simply adding "within the ARIN service area" to the current wording prevents a scenario that should be permitted and allows a scenario that some people would believe should be disallowed.<br><br>1. Someone with an ARIN IPv6 allocation that they are using globally, according to section 9, Out of Region Use, should also be able to use their 4.10 allocation to provide NAT64 for their IPv6 allocation. The current language prevents this because it involves a potential IPv6 deployment outside the ARIN service area.<br><br>2. Conversely, the current policy seems to allow someone with an IPv6 allocation from another RIR, but used within the ARIN region, to qualify for a 4.10 allocation. This would involve deploying IPv6 within the ARIN service area.<br><br>3. Obviously, we don't want someone to receive a 4.10 allocation from ARIN and then use it with an IPv6 allocation from another RIR completely outside the ARIN service area.<br><br>Instead, a 4.10 allocation MUST only support ARIN IPv6 allocations and MUST NOT be used outside the intended scope of those IPv6 allocations. In other words, the 4.10 allocation SHOULD be used concurrently and congruently with the IPv6 allocations, allowing the 4.10 allocation to be used outside the ARIN service region if and only if the IPv6 allocations are also being used outside the ARIN service region in accordance with section 9, Out of Region Use.<br><br>I recommend adding a new bullet point to section 4.10, as illustrated below.<br><ul><li>Allocations made under this policy must be used only to support IPv6 allocations made by ARIN. Further, the use of the allocation must be concurrent and congruent with these IPv6 allocations.</li></ul>This bullet aims to allow #1 and disallow #2 and #3 from the list above.<br><br>Thanks!<div><br><div><div><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Fri, Dec 12, 2025 at 12:28 PM Pellak, Kaitlyn via ARIN-PPML <<a href="mailto:arin-ppml@arin.net" target="_blank">arin-ppml@arin.net</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left-width:1px;border-left-style:solid;padding-left:1ex;border-left-color:rgb(204,204,204)">
