<div dir="ltr"><div>Hi Martin,</div><div><br></div><div>With few exceptions, it is not common practice for AC Members (including policy shepherds) to engage especially with policy proposal authors after the proposals are accepted as Draft policies. At the proposal stage, authors necessarily are involved and play a direct role in developing the proposal to the point that "the Policy Proposal meets the criteria set out in [PDP] 2.2.2" (taken from PDP 2.23 "Author Actions"). After the Advisory Council advances the proposal to Draft Policy, the Author has no more attachment to the draft policy than any member of the community. As I am sure you know, this is done to empower the community very broadly, recognizing the many and varied interests represented.</div><div><br></div><div>I would point you to the following part of the policy development process explaining the role of the community at the stage of Draft Policy (see <a href="https://www.arin.net/participate/policy/pdp/#2-3-2-community-action">https://www.arin.net/participate/policy/pdp/#2-3-2-community-action</a>)</div><div><br></div><div>PDP 2.3.2 Community Action</div><div>The Internet Community may participate in evaluating and providing feedback (PPF) on a Draft Policy by participating on the PPML, at a Public Policy Consultation, by providing feedback directly to members of the Advisory Council, or via other recognized methods.</div><div><br></div><div>I hope this helps.</div><div><br></div><div>Best,</div><div>Matthew Wilder</div><br></div><br><div class="gmail_quote gmail_quote_container"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sat, Dec 7, 2024 at 8:26 PM Martin Hannigan <<a href="mailto:hannigan@gmail.com">hannigan@gmail.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div><div><br></div><div><br><div class="gmail_quote"></div></div></div><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Tue, Nov 26, 2024 at 11:20 ARIN <<a href="mailto:info@arin.net" target="_blank">info@arin.net</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex" dir="auto">In accordance with the Policy Development Process (PDP), the Advisory Council met on 21 November 2024.<br>
