<div dir="ltr">Even if the direct allocation tag within the database has been removed, there are still references outside of the NRPM that use this designation for "direct" assignment or allocation. If the NRPM is changed, <a href="https://www.arin.net/resources/registry/reassignments/">https://www.arin.net/resources/registry/reassignments/</a> would need to be adjusted to reflect whatever the new process or terminology will be. Currently, if you have a direct allocation you can make both reassignments or reallocations. If you are an end user you can only update ARIN with a reassignment. So long as the process for this doesn't change, I would support this policy. However, I did want to remind the shepherds "direct allocation" is more than just a database tag to many orgs. <div><br></div><div>Kat Hunter</div><div>ARIN AC/Comcast</div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Tue, Aug 23, 2022 at 12:30 PM ARIN <<a href="mailto:info@arin.net">info@arin.net</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div class="msg1376541665051024219"><div lang="EN-US" style="overflow-wrap: break-word;"><div class="gmail-m_1376541665051024219WordSection1"><p class="MsoNormal">On 18 August 2022, the ARIN Advisory Council (AC) accepted "ARIN-prop-317: Direct Assignment Language Update" as a Draft Policy.</p><p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p><p class="MsoNormal">Draft Policy ARIN-2022-12 is below and can be found at:</p><p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p><p class="MsoNormal"><a href="https://www.arin.net/participate/policy/drafts/2022_12/" target="_blank">https://www.arin.net/participate/policy/drafts/2022_12/</a></p><p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p><p class="MsoNormal">You are encouraged to discuss all Draft Policies on PPML.
