At this point, staff are only evaluating the criteria that there be 25 individuals in the time period indicated and that those individuals not be from the same organization to determine if the petition is successful.<br class=""><br class="">If the threshold is met the policy will be put before the Board of Trustees for consideration. The Board does not “count” the votes when weighing community support or the policy. The Board instead will need to weigh quite a bit of data against the Principles of Internet Number Resource Policy stated in the PDP and this includes community support. The Board will ultimately come to its own view as to whether the policy change meets the criteria, as a successful petition simply brings it before them for consideration.<br class=""><br class="">The Board (and staff) are observing this process and comments on the list will be considered. The community (including the AC) should feel free to, and are fact highly encouraged to, engage in meaningful discussion of the merits of the policy. If members of the community have questions for other community members they are free to ask those.
