I am a member of RIPE's anti-abuse-wg. When I send a message to group members, via </span><a style=" font-family:'courier new'; font-size: 12pt;" href="mailto:anti-abuse-wg@ripe.net">anti-abuse-wg@ripe.net</a><span style=" font-family:'courier new'; font-size: 12pt;">, the </span><a style=" font-family:'courier new'; font-size: 12pt;" href="mailto:anti-abuse-wg-request@ripe.net">anti-abuse-wg-request@ripe.net</a><span style=" font-family:'courier new'; font-size: 12pt;"> resends messages to </span><a style=" font-family:'courier new'; font-size: 12pt;" href="mailto:anti-abuse-wg@ripe.net">anti-abuse-wg@ripe.net</a><span style=" font-family:'courier new'; font-size: 12pt;"> and all Members receive the message including the author of the message.<br>

In ARIN, if my messages were being posted to members it would be via </span><a style=" font-family:'courier new'; font-size: 12pt;" href="mailto:arin-ppml@arin.net">arin-ppml@arin.net</a><span style=" font-family:'courier new'; font-size: 12pt;"> and I would be receiving my message as well. Since I do not get the messages I send, it's because they are not being posted.<br>
Being archived, means nothing. If I am persona non grata, you must have the decency to warn, so I will not waste time. Staying in or out of your list to me is absolutely indifferent, just do not waste my time.<br>

I'll ask you again: Why are not my messages being posted to list members?<br>

So your messages are clearly going out to the list.<br>

I believe the problem here is a situation which is a common complaint/problem with Gmail and mailing lists.<br>
<br>
I run several mailing lists using Mailman, the same list manager as is used on the PPML list here, and I have run in to this problem as well.<br>
<br>
When a list message is re-transmitted to the list, the original Message ID is preserved. When Gmail receives your own list message back, it has the same Message ID as your original message. For some reason, Gmail throws away incoming messages that have the same Message ID as a message you have sent. This is a documented "feature" and there is no way to change this behavior. The recommended fix is to use an email provider other than Gmail.<br>
<br>
My guess is that the anti-abuse-wg list you mention uses some other list manager besides Mailman, and it modifies or otherwise creates a new Message ID on the messages that are re-broadcast to the list, so you do not have this problem on that list.<br>
