<div dir="ltr">Thanks again to everyone who participated in the ARIN Public Policy Consultation at NANOG 58 in New Orleans. We got some good feedback from the community, particularly on draft policies ARIN-2013-1 "Section 8.4 Inter-RIR Transfers of ASNs" and ARIN-2013-2 "3GPP Network IP Resource Policy".<div>
<br></div><div>Based on the feedback received at the PPC, at the ARIN 31 meeting in Bridgetown, and on PPML, I intend to propose, at our upcoming AC call this Thursday, that the AC abandon both proposals. I believe the sentiment from the community was that neither policy is necessary at this time.</div>
<div><br></div><div>If you missed the NANOG 58 PPC and would like to view or read transcripts of the discussion, see below.<br></div><div><br></div><div>It's worth noting that in the case of Inter-RIR ASN transfers, several people suggested that we could reintroduce the policy if another RIR expresses interest in allowing Inter-RIR ASN transfers as well. Until then, the policy would have no effect if adopted.<br>
</div><div><br></div><div style>And in the case of ARIN-2013-2, there seemed to be a consensus that this issue was not worth addressing (for example by broadening NRPM 4.2.3.7.3.1. Residential Market Area to cover “existing devices” as well as “homes”).</div>
<div style><br></div><div style>If anyone disagrees with those sentiments, please speak up and let us know why you feel the AC should continue working on the policy (and, if possible, how you feel the policy could be changed to foster consensus).</div>
