Howdy,
Since it no longer has to mean anything within the context of the
policy, why not write it in plain English?
Assignment - [deprecated] IP addresses provided by ARIN to
organizations which were not Internet Service Providers. Sometimes
called a "direct assignment." ARIN no longer differentiates between
address user types. Either word should be understood to mean an
allocation as defined above.
