Hi Bill,

Speaking for myself here, not on behalf of ARIN AC, nor even NRPM WG, but
as myself only.

I am in favour of the policy as written.

I had originally written the proposal for this draft policy which came from
the NRPM Working Group to introduce a definition for Internet Number
Resources because the NRPM does mention this term quite a lot and felt we
should define it for the benefit of the community, as a term of import.
Although the text is now somewhat different from what I had originally
proposed, I feel that it serves the intended purpose and offers a clear
definition of the term "Internet Number Resources".

The shepherds alerted me of your concern, so I hope to provide you at least
with the assurance that your feedback was indeed noted. Personally I think
identifier is a self-explanatory term in respect to the Internet and
related technologies and standards. I also find that RFC 7020 provides
enough additional information for the more curious minded in the community.

Also, I hope to clarify that the recommended draft policy has not been
advanced to the board for adoption yet, and still sits with the AC. It is
currently in recommended draft policy state following the most recent AC
meeting, and the community still has opportunity to provide feedback (as
you have done) before the AC has an opportunity to consider advancing it
further.

I hope you find this helpful.

Matthew Wilder
