I haven’t even pondered the implications of this case yet. Maybe I should have. I figured I would just wait and see the outcome here and then run through the different lasting effects that come of it. Strictly from a mile high perspective, I hope this case leads to a notable outcome simply for a deterrent factor. The Internet runs the world as we know it and taking egregious steps to profit from it while harming others cannot be tolerated.

I asked a connection in the legal field if he could get me any further and he told me: “On May 30, 2023, the Defendant filed a motion for reconsideration of that order.  The government has until this Friday to file an opposition, if any.  That’s the last entry in the Court’s Docket.”

I’d imagine in June or July we should hear something further on it.

As a follow up to some of the discussion from July 2022, it appears to me that sentencing may be imminent for Mr. Golestan and Micfo. He filed a motion to withdraw his guilty claims on 26 April of this year [1].



Honorable Richard M. Gergel, US District Judge, issued a ruling [2] on that motion on 15 May denying that motion on a number of grounds including that he took too long and sentencing is imminent.



I, for one, am very curious to see how this plays out in terms of sentencing. It certainly will set a precedent.
