Mike,
I will disagree. The proposal is to require an explanation. The letter you got was not an explanation, it was a clear exercise of the nominating committees option not to explain themselves if they choose not to.
If they were required to provide an explanation to candidates, I do not believe this letter would meet that requirement. If you have any ideas on wording to create a more effective
requirement that clarifies that fact, I would love to know what you might propose.

But this non-explanation makes a mockery of the entire concept of an explanation. It literally says nothing about why the candidate was not selected. It simply restates the NomCom's charter and their decision.

> The ARIN Nomination Committee (NomCom) is in receipt of your request for an explanatory statement on the reasons why you were not included on the Advisory Council candidate slate for the 2021 ARIN Elections. The ARIN NomCom reviewed all duly submitted and timely nominations and the materials provided by the nominees. The NomCom’s robust deliberation process was informed by the diversity of perspectives and experience among NomCom Members and strong adherence to the mandate and terms of reference.

After careful and thoughtful review of each nominee, it was decided to not put your Advisory Council nomination forward onto the initial slate of candidates this year.
