Well said, Mike. For once, I am in complete agreement with you.

While I personally have mixed feelings about the policy, I voted against it in the AC because I did not feel that it achieved the necessary level of support in the community and I felt that there was merit in the opposition arguments.

While I do recognize that it can be difficult to distinguish grass roots from astroturfing, I think that anyone stepping forward with a cogent argument should be presumed to be legitimate until proven otherwise and in any case deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
