the routing table is really as authoritative source  as you're likely to get for how a prefix has been used in the dfz internet. an rpsl entry or registry assignment is is only as accurate as the maintainer.

There is some question in my mind as to whether what actually happened reflects the intentions of the organization to which the prefix was assigned or if that's even relevant.
