The Internet2 network (the Backbone itself) runs on globally unique 
address space that is not announced to the whole global Internet. 
However, the backbone is reachable to all participants and a number of 
other research and education networks world wide.  I would estimate 
something like 5% to 10% of the global Internet has reachability to the 
Internet2 backbone.  FYI, there is approximately 12,000 routes in the 
global research and education route table.

Internet2 does not generally provide address space to it's participants. 
All Internet2 participants have their own address space from another 
source, legacy assignment, direct ARIN assignment or allocation, another 
RIR in the case of international partner networks, or an assignment from 
the participants commercial ISP.  With a few minor exceptions all 
address space of Internet2 participants is reachable to the global 
Internet via the participant's commercial ISP, which participants are 
required to maintain to participate in Internet2.

So Internet2 and it's participants are generally not significant users 
of NRPM section 4.3.5. "Non-connected Networks".
