Where do Canadian laws fit into that structure? And the rules set by
your homeowner's association?
Did you know that a Board of Directors or a Board of Trustees is often
referred to as a Governance Board or Governing Board? Do you know why?
What authority does ARIN have? Try announcing a route to addresses
ARIN has registered to someone else. See how long it lasts. ARIN has
precisely the authority that the folks who operate the Internet choose
to give it. They choose to give it the authority to determine who the
legitimate user of each North American Internet number resource is.
Because the operators choose to give ARIN the authority to govern the
assignment of addresses, ARIN has that governing authority. It's not
contractual or legal, it's conventional. ARIN's legal framework merely
supports and stabilizes the structure.
