It's a tradeoff. Spelling out the names certainly makes it clearer for people
unfamiliar with the group or who don't regularly pay attention to our
actions. Using initials is clear enough for regular participants and
greatly improves readability by allowing you to peruse more of the
minutes on the screen vs. off, or, using a smaller window to view
each item.

I would suggest the compromise of first-name/last initial as a likely
optimization in between the two extremes.
