I think it is unlikely that we'll see any more whole /8s returned to the IANA,
although it's possible that longer prefixes could be returned to a free pool
and be made available for allocation to someone else.

But as I wrote here, that address recovery is unlikely to extend the free pools'
lifetimes by more than a few months.
