People often paint a very bleak picture of IPv6 in North America, giving
the impression that nobody is using it, nobody is planning for it, etc.
This is not true...

Earthlink, an ARIN member has been doing work on making IPv6 useable for
consumer services.

There is a group in Canada organizing companies who are doing trials,
planning, research, etc.

There is a North American IPv6 Task Force

There is a conference called the US IPv6 Summit

The US government has a mandate for agencies to move to IPv6

A Canadian company specializes in IPv6 network gateways
