I think it's fine, although, I'm not sure we need nibble separation rather
than just two 16 bit fields as originally proposed.
I think AS 45.1234 (equivalent to 2,950,354 or 45*65536+1234) is fine.
I suspect that is what you meant, but, a nibble is 4 bits or one hex digit.
